The vehicles have Active Drive Assist 2 (ADA 2) on board, among other things. For the first time, the system enables semi‑automated driving in a coach and keeps the vehicle in lane when side lane markings are detected by actively intervening in the steering.
The new vehicles are owned by Allgäu Airport Express GmbH in Mindelheim, a wholly owned subsidiary of Steber‑Tours GmbH, which founded the express service in 2010 and has gradually expanded since then. The Allgäu‑based family company cooperates with the Munich‑based bus company Dubova Reisen e.K., which has also put two new S 519 HD vehicles into service as part of the cooperation.
