Leinfelden-Echterdingen / Altamura – The southern Italian bus company MarinoBus and Bonn-based UBS Univers Busservice GmbH are adding new Setra double-decker buses to their fleets.

The interiors of MarinoBus's 20 new Setra double-decker buses are fitted with LED lighting and offer different equipment variants on the lower deck – flexibly adapted to touring or regular service. Among other things, the vehicles are equipped with Sideguard Assist, the right-turn assistance system, and Attention Assist technology, which detects the onset of driver fatigue.

The 12.8-litre engine of the OM 471 model series with an output of 375 kW (510 hp) is coupled to the fully automated GO 250–8 MPS 8-speed manual transmission. The buses, which brandish the red woodpecker company logo, each have 68 seats on board. The family-owned business was established by Michele Marino in 1957 and is now managed by Gerardo Marino. In 2015 the company from Apulia took delivery of the 2,500th double-decker bus made by Setra.
